6. Google and YouTube API Services

AuthorScale lets you connect your YouTube channel through Google OAuth so we can publish content on your behalf and report on its performance. When you connect an account, we request access to the following Google API scopes:

• Email and basic profile (userinfo.email, userinfo.profile) — to identify your account and display who is connected.
• YouTube upload (youtube.upload) — to upload videos, including Shorts, to your channel on your behalf.
• YouTube read-only (youtube.readonly) — to read your channel information and public video statistics so we can show your performance.

For each connected account we store your Google account ID, email, name, and profile picture; OAuth access, refresh, and ID tokens; your channel ID, title, handle, and thumbnail; and public video metrics such as view, like, and comment counts. We use this information solely to provide the AuthorScale service — uploading your videos, reading your channel information, and reporting on public video statistics.

AuthorScale's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

By using these features, you are also subject to:

7. Data Security

We protect your data, including data obtained through Google APIs, using industry-standard safeguards:

• All data is encrypted in transit using TLS/HTTPS and encrypted at rest by our hosting and database providers.
• Google OAuth access and refresh tokens are stored in our secured database with restricted access and are never shared with other users or third parties.
• Access to production systems and Google user data is limited to authorized personnel on a need-to-know basis and protected by authentication and access controls.
• We rely on reputable infrastructure providers (Vercel and Neon/PostgreSQL) that maintain their own security and compliance programs.
• We monitor our systems for errors and unauthorized activity.

8. Data Retention and Deletion of Google User Data

• We retain your Google/YouTube account information and OAuth tokens only while your YouTube account is connected to AuthorScale.
• You can disconnect a YouTube account at any time from the Social Accounts page in your dashboard. You can also revoke AuthorScale's access directly at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions.
• When you disconnect an account, we revoke our OAuth access with Google and delete the associated Google user data — including stored access and refresh tokens, email, name, profile picture, and channel information.
• When you delete your AuthorScale account, all associated Google user data is deleted.
