The Kindle Screenshot Generator Is Live in Public Beta

If you've spent any time on BookTok lately, you've seen the Kindle screenshot format, and there's a good chance it stopped your scroll. It's one of the best-performing formats out there right now, and the reason it works is how simple it is. You open with a hook that stops the scroll, then you show a passage from your book with the dialogue highlighted. That's the whole thing.

It looks native to the way readers already share the books they love, which is exactly why it pulls people in. So we built it right into AuthorScale, and as of this week the Kindle Screenshot Generator is live in public beta.

If you're already on a paid AuthorScale plan, log in and you'll find it waiting in your dashboard.

What you can do with it

Generating a screenshot takes a few seconds. You can change the highlight colors to match your characters, which comes in handy whenever your dialogue isn't the usual M/F pairing, and you can strike through or blur any words you'd rather keep off the screen.

What you asked for

Almost 60 of you joined our last community hangout to see it in action, and the feedback came thick and fast. The three requests we heard most were dark mode, keywords printed below the screenshot, and longer videos. That last one is already live, so you can now generate videos up to 30 seconds. Dark mode and keywords are next on the list.
