Your Book Stays Yours — Forever! We’ve made it even clearer in our terms.

At AuthorScale, we know there’s one thing more valuable to an author than time, reach, or even sales — and that’s ownership of your story.

Your intellectual property isn’t just words on a page. It’s your voice. Your vision. Your years of work. And when you use a platform like AuthorScale, you deserve absolute clarity about what happens to that creative work.

That’s why we’ve updated our Terms of Service to make one thing unmistakably clear:

Your content is yours — and will always remain yours.

Whether you’re uploading a full manuscript, a single scene, or generating slideshow posts with our AI, you retain full ownership and control over everything you create.

We made this update not because anything changed behind the scenes — but because we know how important it is, especially for new authors joining AuthorScale, to see that commitment spelled out in writing.

What’s New in Our Terms (and Why It Matters)

We’ve worked with thousands of authors since launching AuthorScale, and one thing we’ve learned is that creative ownership is sacred. That’s why these updates focus specifically on intellectual property, data privacy, and author control.

Here’s what we clarified:

✅ You Own Your Uploaded Content

Everything you upload to AuthorScale — your manuscript, your scenes, your characters — is 100% yours. We do not claim copyright or resale rights to any part of your book.

✅ You Own the Content We Generate for You

When AuthorScale turns a scene into a slideshow post — that’s still your story. The generated output belongs to you, not us. We’re a tool to help you share your work, not a stakeholder in it.

✅ Your Content Will Never Be Used to Train Our AI

This one’s important. Some tools use user-uploaded data to train or refine their models. We don’t.

Our AI is trained exclusively on public, legally accessible social media data — never on your book.

We’ve built our entire system to honor creative privacy, not exploit it.

✅ You Can Delete Your Book Any Time, No Questions Asked

You don’t have to email us or wait for support.

If you want to remove your book, you can do it with a single click in your AuthorScale dashboard. Once deleted, we stop storing and processing it — simple as that.

✅ We Drew a Clear Line Between Your IP and Ours

To avoid any confusion, we also clarified what we own — things like our software code, templates, and website design. That’s our IP.

Your stories, your characters, your posts — those are yours. Always.

Built With Authors, For Authors

AuthorScale was created in close collaboration with the indie author community — from full-time bestsellers to first-time novelists.

We’ve spent the past year listening to your concerns, your hopes, and your frustrations with social media marketing. Many of you told us how intimidating it is to show your face on TikTok, or how long it takes to consistently market your book.

We built this platform to solve that — but we’ve also learned that speed and simplicity mean nothing if authors don’t feel safe using the tool. And when it comes to protecting your work, clarity isn’t optional — it’s essential.

That’s why this update matters.

Even though our core policies haven’t changed, the language around them now reflects the values we share with our users: transparency, respect, and trust.

So If You’ve Been on the Fence…

If you’ve been watching from the sidelines — curious about how AuthorScale works, but unsure about what it meant for your IP — we hope this gives you peace of mind.

There’s no catch. No fine print.

We exist to help you share your story, not own it.

Whether you’re trying to grow your TikTok audience, revive an older book, or finally get traction for that beautiful scene you know could go viral, we’re here to help — on your terms.

(Or email us at help@authorscale.com if you have questions. We’re happy to talk it through.)
